This study of the municipality of Telpaneca is intended to contribute to the knowledge and debate about the potentials and limits of the agricultural sector, particularly the peasant sector, from the perspective of the production system. In essence, it picks up the need to promote a new development pattern in the agricultural sector based on strengthening the peasant production systems in the conversion from extensive agriculture.
